Between a manga and an essay, as while there are drawings, they're interspersed by prose. This was cute, short, and pretty easy to read. Great for newer readers to dip their toes into reading, or any more experienced reader wanting to read something they can read quickly and extensively. The grammar is pretty simple as well, as it sticks to grammar that's low intermediate at most from what I could see. A few longer sentences, but again, only with simple grammar.
