Book 2 picks up right where the first left off. The grammar concepts in this volume become more complex than the first, while the explanations remain simple to grasp, which I was very thankful for. The way this series teaches verb types makes so much more sense than Genki's method. This volume also teaches katakana. It's twice the size of book 1 but every page is worthwhile.
Really good book, not to fast and have fun activates that you can use in daily life. Although as the review before i would say that this book is probably around lvl 3-4
Although this book helped my Japanese overall, this was my least favorite book in the series. The vocabulary felt obscure and there were a number of typos in my 2nd edition. Overall though, my understanding of Japanese and katakana improved.
