Shuurei is informally offered another temporary job, this time in the Finance Bureau under the eccentric and strict 黄奇人. However, since women are not officially allowed to take the imperial exam and become officials, she must disguise herself in male clothing.
This volume has some scenes which were significantly changed or not included in the anime adaptation. That made it more fun to read.
