What would you do if your husband refused to wash? This starts as a small crack in a couples relationship, but steadily grows as cracks show throughout their Tokyo life.
The novel touches the wife's unease at blindly following the expectations of society, and also the differences in expectations of society in Tokyo vs coutry life.
Generally very approachable language wise, especially something which is dealing with relatively deep topics.
