(4.69/5)This is a great beginner manga and worked wonderfully as a first manga for me - it has furigana, relatively standard language (no sentence DeepL couldn't translate) and lots of contextual images. There is quite a bit of strange vocabulary, but with the WaniKani vocabulary sheet (it has extremely good coverage), this manga was surprisingly manageable.
The story is about a girl in the future who goes to a Venice-like city on Mars (now a waterworld called Aqua) to become a gondolier. The images of the world are awesome, I really enjoyed them. I only read the print version, but the extra $$$ spent for the physical book was definitely worth it.
As for the actual narrative, it was mostly world building & slice of life which is ok with me. If you're looking for a suspenseful narrative filled with cliff hangers, then maybe you won't like it.. but i don't know, I loved it.

Very charming
This is an excellent manga for beginners. No real plot to speak of, just a series of slice-of-life snippets. It has space and maritime-related terminology but the sentences themselves are mostly short and straightforward, so parsing them is not a problem.
This series was featured in a WaniKani reading club thus there are completed vocab sheets for every chapter, as well as answers for most of your probable questions. The difficulty varies from chapter to chapter but in total I've made 210 Anki cards.
