Another pageturner from Javier Castillo
This is the third in a series of thrillers based around the fictional journalist Miren Triggs. It’s set in New York in 2011 and starts with the disappearance of a 7 year old boy at the end of a school day in 1981.
Like the previous Castillo book I read, this is fast paced, short chapters averaging about 10 pages, and there are frequent twists and plot reveals. All of this make it great for Spanish learners who are tackling upper intermediate content.
This book does at times reference back to the cases from the earlier stories, but would work fine as a standalone read. Books 1 and 2 have TV series adaptations on Netflix.
