(3.45/5)An enjoyable read
I liked the first book a bit better - this book was still enjoyable, though! I could grab plenty of new words and was able to read without difficulties. I am also surprisingly intrigued when it comes to the story and I'm delighted that at the end Hanabi was finally able to push back a bit, when Yayako tried pulling her usual BS.
I might finish one of my other currently-reading books first, but I plan on continuing this series. :)
Good, but not as good as the first one.
夜カフェ 1 was the first Aotori/Tsubasa kids bunko book that I read and actually legitimately enjoyed. This is still a decent read if you liked the first one, but spends too much time on friend drama and party preparation and not enough time on some of the more interesting plots in the book. Also Hanabi gets about two texts from Yamato-kun, but man do we hear about him a lot despite how little of an appearance that he makes in the story.
Considering there's no shortage of Aotori books at this level, I'll probably move on from the series after this one.

Decent read for those starting to tackle N3
I gave this one three stars simply because I gave the first volume 4, in reality it's more 3 1/2. It was a decent read, I picked up some useful vocabulary from it, grammar is not murderous. I reckon that if someone is in the upper limits of N4 and just about starting to tackle some N3 material, this one should be a not so painful read.
The plot is fine, bit of drama, bit of party prep, Hanabi gets a bit of revenge on Yayako.
I already have the third books, so will continue with the series for now.
