Great for beginners

This is a great book series for adult beginners because the original novels were all mostly written for adults, so they aren't about kid stuff. They are translated from Japanese so the language tends to be very simple and easy to read. Plus they are all exactly the same length, which means you can really feel your progress as it takes less and less time to read them as your skills improve. Since they are all classics many people probably know the stories already, which makes it easier to follow
