聲の形 is originally a manga. There is also an anime adaptation by kyoto animation that I would highly recommend.
Interestingly, this junior-bunko novelization seems to be entirely independend from the light-novel version that also exists and by a different author.
This was the first japanese novel I ever completed. The first I tried was 魔女の宅急便. But I gave up on that because I found it too hard. Looking back, the reason I gave up on 魔女の宅急便 but was able to read 聲の形 was probably becaue I bought 魔女
