Waking up in 1945 Japan
The story is about a middle school girl who wakes up in 1945 wartime Japan after running away from home. She meets several wonderful people, some of whom are kamikaze pilots, but also experiences some of the horrors of war.
It was a bit of a struggle for me to read vocabulary/grammar wise, but the story was engaging enough for me to have patience with dictionary lookups.
