[DeepL Translation - needs review] Tsugumi is a sickly, sassy, beautiful girl. When I returned home to the small seaside town where I grew up with her like a sister, I met a boy who was spending his last summer in his hometown with Tsugumi at the beginning of a still pale night. This is a sad and transparent story that depicts the never-repeatable sparkle of the season when a girl transitions into adulthood. Winner of the second Shugoro Yamamoto Award.

Wonderful!
I really enjoyed reading this! I initially picked it up for the WaniKani bookclub, but decided to read it later on because I found it a bit too difficult at the time, especially as I read the physical copy. I read it around 6 months later, as my 13th book rather than my 5th, which was definitely a wise decision. Overall, aside from around 1 word per page in lookups, I found this to be an accessible read.
The writing was gorgeous and I adored the atmosphere of the book - it was poignant, nostal
