This book is a veritable 福袋 packed with poop-related knowledge! It dives deep into the journey that poop takes after being flushed, covering everything from wastewater treatment and Japan's sewage system to toilets without plumbing and the history of sanitation throughout the ages in Japan - plus plenty of other fascinating topics. The co-author's sense of humor, combined with the surprisingly riveting content (I’m serious - while reading this, I kept telling everyone around me, “I just learned this thing about how toilets work!” Sorry, everyone!) made it an incredibly enjoyable read. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s into nonfiction, history, science, fun facts, or maybe even scatology. Just a heads-up: there’s a lot of scientific vocabulary related to chemicals, and some sections may induce nausea - so don’t read it while eating.
