星のカービィ スターアライズ 宇宙の大ピンチ!?編

A worthy capper to the first two-parter of the series that keeps up the energy of volume 11. The plot manages to be a little darker and more exciting than the usual Kirby fare without feeling out of left field or inconsistant with the rest of the books. I like that it plays with some of the long-running gags like how this is the first time Metaknight willingly calls Kirby for help because he's too annoying otherwise but this time it's a big threat. I liked that even though we finally find out who and what is behind everything going on it's still kind of a mystery as to what the entity is or why. The finale gets really weird in some fun ways and it gives just enough closure to be a satisfying ending while still keeping that cosmic horror element.

Language wise this is pretty standard Kirby fare but there is one character who speaks only in kana which does throw me off and one character's name is convoluted as a running gag. Some characters use made up words from their language like "Jamahello" or "Jamadamnit" which caught me off guard a bit before I realized the character quirk. There's one character with a super convoluted name that everyone mangles as a running gag and I still can't tell if it's a pun on anything.

So yeah overall this series is still bangers though I do want to take a manga detour for a while since it's getting harder to fit in full novels.
