This is a disturbing story, and is portrayed accordingly. The cover and synopsis should give a pretty clear idea of what it's about, and I think the complicated effects the events have on this young girl are relatively realistically portrayed. While the experienced my sexual awakening, due to rape storyline may be a good reason not to read it, it's not portrayed as something fantastical or even particularly good. I didn't really care for the ending though.
