Easy picture book

Easy picture book for early readers. Good to get used to basic descriptive texts, animals and adjectives.

Simple, repetitive, understandable

There isn't much to this book. It's effectively a simple children's book with a series of pictures and a number of repeated phrases prompting you to identify each animal's dad. The words were very basic - some colors, size (long, short), environments (water, land), etc. This is a really simple book to get used to reading Japanese without looking things up. If you don't know a word, it's likely you can figure it out via the photos that are there for each animal and some context clues.

Great for Learning Body Parts, Animals, and Basic Grammar!

Can learn from this:

  • kanji for body part
  • grammar の, どれ/これ
  • animal vocab!
  • adjectives
  • color vocab & kanji
  • counter word

The most challenging part for me was the animal vocabulary in katakana, but I see it as a good opportunity to practice reading katakana
