Perfect book for my level even if it was a bit straightforward. Because it stars elementary schoolers from a first person perspective, the language used is fairly simple but has nods towards complexity (as they're on the older side for 小学生). I don't have any particular interest in sports but the descriptions are clear and easy to comprehend with only the occasionally very specific badminton term. Most of all, the book is just fun and satisfying to read, though fairly cliche for the most part.

Learner-friendly!
A few reasons why I think this book is good for learning and practicing reading comprehension:
- The POV switches between the two main characters from chapter to chapter, but it's easy to keep track. While both MCs are fifth grade girls, they have very distinct personalities, use different first person pronouns, and chapters are marked with a little illustration of whose POV it is.
