Interesting, but a challenge.
I'm only partially through reading the book, but here are my thoughts so far.
I think the book is interesting and gives some insight into a Japanese person's life from several decades ago. However because of that, it tends to use some difficult kanji and Japanese. It can also be hard to understand because we don't have the context of old customs or the vocabulary common for this time period.
I would still recommend this book, but keep in mind that it might be a struggle.
