Really fun Manga! The dynamic between ゆう and 店長 is pretty fun! Is it the most entertaining manga? Perhaps not, but it is way more entertaining than most graded readers at this level. Some sentences are hard, but for the most part they are pretty easy for someone at an N4 level to understand. The only area where this manga is lacking is in the learning aspect. Wasted potential
Man I was really looking forward to reading this, it looked so cute! It's an episodic slice-of-life about a girl working at a store owned by a frog! But the stories were dull and the humor fell flat.
The protagonist has basically no personality, so there's not much of a dynamic between her and the frog 店長. And tbh the frog character's not all that interesting either other than him being a frog. It would have been better if A) the main girl was given even a little bit of personality other than "
Good entry level book for casual Japanese
This book is well suited for people who so far mostly know textbook Japanese and are looking for an entry level book providing short casual Japanese conversations. The dialogs are very short but I found this to be a good thing. That way you don't get burnt out by trying to understand each sentence in detail and looking up vocabulary. While I highly recommend this book for learning, it was not very entertaining.
