(4.50/5)Super Fun!
I've seen the anime and loved it, so I'm glad I finally tried out the manga version! So far the content is identical. It's been very fun to revisit the characters and story - it's hilarious and action-packed yet heartfelt. 5 stars.
A funny story about an elite spy who just got assigned his most difficult mission so far.
It's a challenging read, because there's a lot of text. The characters are planning and plotting their next move. But the story is worth it.
Has furigana.
This was a lot of fun and I enthusiastically recommend it! It’s fast-moving, funny, heartwarming, and full of action. TBH it was a pleasant surprise: I picked this up mostly because it’s popular, and that makes it a good reference point for grading comparisons. But I was quickly hooked and binge-read the first volume as fast as I could. I’d like to read more of this series, once I get through some of the other stuff on my shelf.
I read the color version of the digital manga on Bookwalker. I found the color made it much easier to immediately understand what was happening in the scenes, and to visually separate the text from the background. I liked the muted color palette too. In future I’ll definitely keep an eye out for color editions.
The hero Twilight’s mental narrative and dialogue is in a fairly literary/stiff style. Another major character uses keigo frequently. And yet another who speaks childish Japanese in hiragana with wobbly grammar. There’s full furigana.
The text density seemed moderate IMO. There are mangas with less density, but I’ve seen a couple that are definitely denser than this. I think this one has a balance that’s really good for an intermediate-level story.

Very sweet story, it's like a very sweet family manga, especially with all the violence and blood and so on C:
Throws a lot of very difficult words at you immediately, which is great if you're trying to learn those expressions, but if you don't know them yet, a speech bubble might be composed exclusively of difficult expressions and furigana is your only help to attempt to decipher them
