In lieu of a proper summary I'm going to throw out some major themes: Suicide. Natural disasters. Childhood trauma. Bullying. Being trapped in life or death situations. If reading about any of those makes you uncomfortable, best to skip this one. I started out really, really liking the story but felt it dragged a bit in the middle. It did pick back up again as the characters developed more. That said, the character development often took the form of monologues that felt entirely ill-timed with current plot developments. "Something horrible just happened, oh dear. Instead of paying attention to that, let's talk about our feelings on something else entirely" seemed to be a recurring theme.
As for language learning: Some dialects are present, the character from Osaka has the heaviest dialect of the group and he seems the most like a trope character out of all of them due in part to this. All the main characters are teenagers, but I didn't notice heavy slang use. Nothing crazy in terms of vocab aside from some plant names but the majority of those are written in katakana so googling is easy enough if you want a picture. A few words relating to natural disasters but they're repeated over and over again. A good deal of dialogue but also a lot of narration from the point of view of セータ（星多）.
