Ok, but not for adults anymore
Of course, that comment title is obvious because this is a children's book so of course I didn't expect anything crazy. However, unlike some other series from my childhood that I enjoyed revisiting in another language, I didn't really like this one as the language is very repetitive, and it couldn't hold my interest as much as it did when I was a kid (in addition, the prejudice and stupidity were a lot easier to read when I was still ignorant haha). In addition, I didn't feel like this used complex grammar at all, and there wasn't a lot of new vocabulary either. After the 100 page mark, I don't think I even opened another dictionary.
Anyway, I loved this series as a kid so I'm glad I got to read it, but it was a struggle to force myself to get through 284 pages and I will not be continuing with the rest of the series. Take from that what you will. If you're just looking for a nostalgic, light-hearted read about Firepaw and Greypaw, this is your book. But if you want something more engaging theme-wise or plot-wise; or even just something more linguistically challenging, you're best actually looking at young adult-adult books.
