(3.71/5)Only Chapter 2 (Yellow) is worth your time
Easy book for intermediate Japanese language learners.
One short story in chapter which touch on the characters superficially.
This book is not recommended for readers who like a complete story with happy ending.
Only Chapter 2 (Yellow) is worth your time.
The rest of the book consists of random musings or making a mountain out of a molehill, ultimately concluding that it was indeed a molehill.
Lovely short story collection
Really really nice little book. As others have said, it's a collection of several short stories, each about 15 pages long. Each story connects onto the next, so you get to see the characters pop up a few times. Some of the stories are stronger than others. But the ones that are good are really good, in my opinion, and in many cases I wish they were longer. Several of these would be worth their own book. Purple and yellow are the best though! This book is also very approachable in terms of difficulty - the grammar is quite simple, and I didn't have to look up near as many words as with some similar level books. However it does fluctuate slightly in difficulty between the stories, depending on their level of monologue vs. dialogue etc.
Overall, would highly recommend!
Heartwarming stories all interconnected
Each story in the 12 is connected to each other through characters we meet.
It's very sweet, although possibly too sweet at times, as long as you're expecting that I think that is nice though.
Language is quite simple for a full length book, so would definitely be good for someone getting into reading

Wonky middle but enjoyable on the whole
A short story collection based around colours, set across Tokyo and Sydney. Each story is interlinked in some way and as the collection progresses begin to intertwine in more complicated and thematically interesting ways (though this can sometimes feel a bit like a bunch of cameos as well). I felt the early and later stories were far more interesting than the middle stories, but everything had its place.
Difficulty-wise it's quite variable but mostly manageable. Interestingly, you may encounter the same events retold from more than one point of view, so there's a nice amount of repeated phrases and expressions to get used to.
