This book kind of destroyed me. This is a fable that deals with fear, loneliness, grief...you get the picture. But it was also very touching (yes, this def goes on my list of books that made me cry) and meaningful. I was surprised to find myself thinking about it for a while after I read it. This is an entry in the genre of ostensible kids books about animals going on adventures that make adults feel sad about the nature of existence.
Because it's a kids book it's quite short (around 150 pages on my ereader) and language is pretty straight forward. I'd say it's much more digestible than The Little Prince which is a similar genre book often popular with language learners.
Although it's quite sad the writing itself was engaging and there are some lovely illustrations.
