This ‘inconvenient convenience store’ has a large variety of clientele. We have a large cast of characters we learn about. I was sometimes confused due to the jumping around to different perspectives and stories. There is a connection between the characters we learn about, but some perspectives I was just like…so what? But if you like having insights into different peoples lives and hearing about their hardships and lessons learned…while they go to a convenience store…you may enjoy it!

Recommendation for advanced learners
Honestly, it's a pretty slow book and it's not interesting for a while. That's why I dropped it after 30 pages when I was worse at Korean. But once you get to a point where it's easy to read, it's a very warm and thoughtful book that made me cry a lot. I can see why it made such big waves in Korea.
