Blurb
The overly confident Fujino and the shut-in Kyomoto couldn’t be more different, but a love of drawing manga brings these two small-town girls together. A poignant story of growing up and moving forward that only Tatsuki Fujimoto, the creator of Chainsaw Man, could have crafted.

(4.56/5)WHAT WAS THAT
some publishing vocab i didn’t know but mostly pretty easy ! vocabulary-wise. not like. emotionally (泣)
A short and sweet story about making art and growing up.
Wonderful story and at 1 volume only it is short and sweet and totally worth reading. No furigana but the language used is relatively simple, as the story takes place in everyday life. Mostly telling the story through visuals, the text is minimal which helps make it easier to read.
Good story
If you want to test your kanji reading with out furigana this is the perfect place to start. It’s not too long and all the kanji is what is used often in writing. Not too hard of a read.

No real complaints about the story. It carries weight and meaning — while being well executed. And perhaps a substantial amount of meaning for manga of this length. Language is consistent, aside from a few rather short text-blocks. A considerable amount of silent panels add even more to the context and are well executed as well.
I have to fill in this paragraph before I talk very minor spoilers, while comparing book to the animation. Second paragraph would be too fast for showing their differences — even in the most general vocabulary possible.
So how does manga and anime compare? The stories are basically identical. However, a lot effort was put animating even the scenes that had very few panels. Considering aesthetics, I would recommend the anime, but the delivery of the ending part was a bit less understandable and more ambiguous than in the manga.
Having watched the ending a second time just now, I think it might be just a skill issue on my part.
