this is very "corporate" feeling with the barest effort having gone into drawing scenes - sometimes the environment is just a photo of tokyo edited slightly to look drawn-ish and it's quite funny. that being said, it's a very clean and easy reading experience. never text-dense. i definitely recommend this to beginners, maybe those who have finished Genki I

Adaptation: I've read this twice (first in EN, then JP), and only just watched the movie (which this is an adaptation of) for the first time. I think it's a really excellent adaptation (and apparently includes some scenes that were cut from the film). The story and dialogue are almost identical, so I think reading this is a good primer for the film, if you're ok with that. The visual quality isn't on the level of the movie, but in some ways, the
