It’s a comedy and so it’s built up mostly of four-panel scenes/bits, which are pretty easy to digest for someone getting into reading Japanese. This was the first book I’ve read in Japanese and it was a bit challenging for the first few chapters since the author uses a lot of colloquial words and expressions, but it really didn’t take any time at all to learn. There’s a character who speaks in Kansai-ben which sounds scary, but in reality it doesn’t take that long to understand, it is still Japanese in the end.
