Although a massively successful series that has been translated into many languages, I never read any of the Magic Tree House as a child; however, I did enjoy this book, and look forward to reading more. If you have read this book before, I'm sure rereading it as an adult will be a nice trip down memory lane, but the series has more to offer adult readers than just nostalgia.
Philipp and Anne (as they are known in the German translation) are siblings who happen to discover a treehouse in the woods as they are coming home from school one day. The language is simple, which is great for learners, but this doesn't detract from the excitement of the plot. It's a relatively quick and satisfying read, and there's also an audiobook available. A great choice for beginners!
