A lot of this volume takes place in the 現代, and you see where Inuyasha's relationship with Kagome can be a bit toxic (she literally has to fight with him, so she can go home, and then he later tries to drag her back and she has to force him down the well (not to mention he just takes one of her textbooks)), but also sweet (he's anxiously waiting by the well for her, and thus is able to come to her and Souta's rescue, despite his hurt/upset feelings.).
