I'm rating this as easier than it might otherwise be because it's out of copyright so not only is it absolutely available for free digitally (thus easy lookups), you can also find people reading it aloud on YouTube.
Some of the ways of speaking are a bit old fashioned and much of the kanji used are ones you'd not often seen in modern Japanese writing. That said, the story is very straightforward and doesn't contain the usual breadth of vocabulary I've come to expect from Edogawa.
