Zombie infestation yuri. Wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. The two leads have great energy, and the story flows very well. It has a nice sense of journey and adventure. Not too predictable, but not too unexpected either. The magic is thankfully very simple, and doesn't involve long info dumps or mechanics. There's a great balance between the inner monologue and dialogue.
Also the audiobook is amazing!! Both leads have separate narrators (tho only one is the PoV character), and bot

I'm not much into zombies, but the addition of magic (and a magical penguin 🐧?!) sounded interesting enough for me to try it out.
The beginning was pretty fast-paced and a lot of fun to read. Unfortunately it slowed down a lot after the first 20% or so. I considered dropping it halfway through, but since it seemed like the preparation was finally done and we're starting with the actual plot I still continued on. Unfortunately though, at least in my opinion the rest of the book never really goe
