(4.33/5)Synopsis of the story
The manga starts with a cat waiting to be adopted, however everyone looks at the cat and thinks it's ugly. That is, until an elderly man visits the shop. The cat gets adopted by the man and receives the name "Fukumaru". The rest of the manga is about Fukumaru and the man's daily life together.
Review
As a first manga, this was a perfect read. It's a very cute manga with easy dialogue. The vocabulary use is very limited and the grammar is easily comprehensible. Th
I have since given away my copy to a friend who is learning Japanese so I can't check it, but I recall this using mostly simple dialogue and having furigana.
It's a cute story about an older man who adopts a cat everyone thinks is ugly, but which he loves with all his heart.
This story is adorable - an older man adopts an ugly(-cute) cat, and though neither quite understands each other at first, they are both full of affection for the other. Great pick if you love cats or want to read something happy.
It mostly uses simple vocabulary and grammar, and there is full furigana on everything. There is also only a little non-standard Japanese/slurring, besides the cat's dialogue turning な into にゃ (e.g. なに->にゃに). It's very episodic and the individual chapters are short,
HAS FURIGANA
Summary This series follows the story of a widower (for the non-spoiler peeps: old man) who has recently adopted a cat that was typically passed over for being ugly. You'll read along as the two of them heal the holes in each other's hearts.
Review 3.5/5 While I do find the series to be heartwarming, I don't think that this first volume is vastly entertaining. With that being said--Ojisama is a silver fox. Such a hottie. 10/10 イケメン
