It's definitely a lot easier than からかい上手高木さん, largely because Chi is much younger so the vocabulary is a lot simpler. It gets a bit closer to the main series in difficulty when Nishikata is the narrator, but is still overall easier than it. The usual caveats about a very young character and only using hirigana/occasionally babying words also applies here, but it's still pretty easy to understand.

A cute series for beginners
A parallel series to the original 高木さん, this one features a new main character, ちー. It's just as cute and heartwarming as the original series.
There is nothing much going on; the series is really just a collection of vignettes of the daily lives of the 西片 family. There are a lot of throwbacks to the original series, so read it either in parallel with or after the original one for full enjoyment.
The chapters are short and self-contained. The vocabulary is everyday essential Japanese. An easy read even for a beginner with a very manageable amount of lookups. Full furigana as one might expect.
This is IMHO just a bit harder than the original due to ちー being a child and not speaking in 漢字 yet. On the other hand, ちー often gets stuff explained to her by her parents, which might be a good thing for learners.
If you come from a WaniKani background and are overly reliant on 漢字, this is a good way to improve your ひらがな comprehension skills.
