This manga is just so charmingly to my tastes. Cute, naughty cat? Check. Strangely handsome guy? Check. Yakuza elements? Check. Rural Japan? Check.
So, yeah, you should read it too. Now for more Natively relevant review info... There's full furigana, it's not a very text dense manga, and the yakuza slang usually has furigana for the normal Japanese phrasing. In that sense, I think it's not bad at all for beginners. There isn't a lot of cat specific words either for a manga with a titular cat character since the Oyaji isn't very familiar with cats so he learns throughout the series. It can be a bit slangy/accented, but it's not so bad imo.
I think the closest manga I can compare it to would be おじさまと猫, and unlike that one it doesn't divert off of the title topic. Given the good pacing and the interesting yet stable introduction of new characters in the first 3 volumes, I also don't expect it to be.
Overall, I'd recommend this manga, especially if you like cats, yakuza, or both.
