Mildly creepy, but generally fun. I can't really say much more without ruining it. No particular content warnings, though.
This is an older text (1928) and so it does have an older writing style and kanji usage, but the person who put it into Aozra provided ample furigana for less common words and some common ones. I think this would be a good, soft introduction to older writing.

The first line of this story is apparently very famous and is often quoted, so it's worth reading this just for the cultural knowledge.
I liked this story, it was a little creepy and the slight creepiness combined with the energetic voice of the narrator reminded me of Edgar Allen Poe short stories.
