If you've ever wanted to read a wholesome manga series about ladies geeking out over building plastic model Gundams - well, then this series was made for you :) While I'm not particularly into mecha, Gundam, or models, I felt like this and the next book struck a really great balance of story, character development, and being overly specific about building models. The third book's balance was more model-heavy, and less interesting for me - but for someone who's into that, I think they'd probably enjoy it.
Anyway, it starts off with a 30 year old OL who's supressed her interest in Gundams all her life, bumping into a 16 year old who's obsessed with them, and blossoms from there. (the genre is not romance, in case you're worried about that). Both leads, and the eventual third main character, are very enjoyable. I'm not sure that I'll read vol 4-5, but for the most part I definitely enjoyed 1-3.
