Orthodox fantasy that manages to tell a story with lots of bits to it in a fairly short page count, but also doesn't really have that much to say. It was enjoyable-enough to read, competently executed, but also doesn't have much of a concept going and ultimately, probably pretty forgettable. Maybe I've just read too much fantasy before that follows a similar pattern.
