While there are plenty I’d websites that help with grammar, this dictionary not only gives numerous practical example sentences, but also breaks down the grammar into an easy to understand explanation.
They also give grammar points that are similar and explain the differences.
This was a lifesaving resource that I’m glad exists.
Only drawback is it’s a bit expensive, but worth the cost if you’re committed.
A must have when you want to remember a grammar point that you've forgot or not sure how it work.
At first I was not sure about the utility to have this book since you can easilly find what you want on google but I finally give it a try and I was very surprised and wished I get it earlier.
It's not really tall (but a little thick) so you can bring it with you without problem. The way the book is structured is really well made since it's like a word dictionnary (A -> Z) so you can easily find which grammar point you want. An indispensable reference for Japanese language learners.
This book does not replace textbooks, but instead acts as a reference for grammar points when reading or writing. So you can't skip the textbook and go straight to this — you'll still want to go through some kind of introductory course, whether that's Genki or Tae Kim or Japanese: the Manga Way or whatever.

Essential Source to Basic Japanese Grammar
The Dictionary of Japanese Grammar series is simply the best grammar series I have ever come across in any language. The authors do an excellent job of combining complex linguistic explanations, complete with examples of both correct and incorrect sentences. Everything is easy to understand, especially for beginners and upper beginners (N5-N4), who are the target demographic of this volume. Japanese grammar does not seem as intimidating and intricate as this excellent book at hand.
