I remember this being a very enjoyable story. However, it was very difficult to follow because the time isn't linear and the point of view can also change from one character to the next, which can be pretty confusing. Definitely a book to read when you're able to pay full attention to everything, and you need a great understanding of the vocab as well to not get confused by time/character changes.

In my opinion, this is one of the most accessible of García Márquez’s books. It has quite short chapters and is written in a fairly journalistic style, without so much of the flowery language found in novels like ‘El amor en los tiempos de cólera’.
Although the story is quite simple, the author tells it again from different points of view, adding more details and perspectives every time. This makes it an enjoyable read.
