Setting aside some serious suspension of disbelief issues (particularly with the 2nd lead, Mimi), the series is pretty solid so far (through vol 5 / ch 38.5), with some interesting storytelling and portrayal of various characters and relationships and dynamics. It strikes a good middle ground between portraying some realities of war, and raising some ethical questions, but not going in as deep as something like 鋼の錬金術師 - instead focusing on the relationship and character development - and manages
