ポレポレ日記 is a children's book about a middle school student named Yuzu who enrolls in Ryuusei Middle School in order to join their championship-winning dance club.
Like all 青い鳥文庫 books, this has full furigana. The vocabulary is standard high school drama stuff, and while the grammar is not as easy as, say, a picture book, it's still easier than a novel for adults. The most difficult sections are ones where dancing is described, because to enjoy those scenes you have to thoroughly comprehend the vocabulary and grammar being used — you can't just "get the gist of it" because dance scenes that you can't visualize are boring and confusing to read.
While this is not a bad book, per se, I do have a hard time thinking of anyone I could recommend this book to aside from tween girls age 11-13, since the main character is fixated on boys, friends, and dancing, in that order — and that's all the book talks about. If that sounds good to you, then this book is a decent stepping stone between graded readers and full novels. However, by no means should you read this book solely because it's easy; there's plenty other books out there just as easy and with more interesting content.
