A good attempt at a new series
四ノ宮くん's author unfortunately suffers from health issues, so I was pretty happy to see this volume released some time back. It's taken me a while to get to it, and I'm a bit torn. One one hand, it was a pretty fun book: we follow the 四ノ宮 (しのみや) family of six brothers, all of whom were born with supernatural powers of varying kinds. Their past is quite tragic, both parents having passed away two or three years before the story begins, and we primarily follow youngest brother 蒼空 (そら) as we learn more about the family. The art is quite nice, and we even get a cameo appearance from a character from the author's previous series 裏切りは僕の名前を知っている. (Please note that's a rather generous amount of brocon here, which the author seems to enjoy. Nothing explicit or really stated beyond "wow I love him", but just fyi.)
On the other hand, as of this review there are only two books published. Either the author's health issues have flared up again and the release of a third volume is unlikely, or the story wraps up in two volumes anyway, in which case I have a few concerns about pacing. Regardless I plan to read on and see what the author has set up this time around; the central mystery of the book (the parents' deaths) is intriguing, and I do enjoy all the pretty boys, haha.
Text can be a bit dense in this volume; the vocabulary isn't necessarily far-reaching, there can just be a lot of it at times for lower-level learners. There is furigana for everything, happily.
