good start to regular novels

I read this in hopes to help me bridge the gap from children novel to more novels aimed at adults. Since I knew the story of Twilight already in English, it was really helpful to help me not get lost in some long descriptions. Twilight is a guilty pleasure of mine so I didn't find it too repetitive to read the story once again.
