仁獣芳烈伝 Crossover Chapter - Great fun!
(Note: This review only covers chapter 33 in this volume.)
When I heard that author 森本秀 had included a bonus crossover story in G Defend with 仁獣芳烈伝, I knew I had to get it. The crossover does not disappoint, imo; it's a great, fun return to the characters of 仁獣, and best of all you don't need to have read any G Defend to enjoy it!
This chapter takes place after the events of the main 仁獣芳烈伝 series, though off the top of my head I can't think of any major spoilers that are brought up should you decide to skip ahead to this chapter for some reason. Some characters do mention things like "oh, character A has this rank in the Jusenkai military", etc., that only happens post 仁獣, but afaik no major story spoilers. I can only assume that this lines up timeline-wise with volume 27 of G Defend, as the following chapters in this volume appear to swing back to its main story.
Anyway, the setup for the crossover is this: our two G Defend protagonists (plus dog) somehow accidentally get pulled into a dimensional portal to the land of 仁獣, where one meets up with LiFang and co. and the other is captured by bandits. The 仁獣 cast decides to help and see if if they can find a way to send the two home, and we get to see a lot of fun interactions between the two series' characters amid many fun action scenes.
It'd be great if there were future G Defend volumes with crossovers with 森本's other series; I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for them.
