Theres a lot of furigana, also some words are written in half kanji half hiragana (eg. 戦とう), its a kids book but it seems pretty approachable i guess, especially if you have read the original already as its translated.
I've read the polish translation few years ago and the japanese version seems to be much more 子供向け but maybe original is the same (?)
Took me around 6,5 hours so beginners might want to start with a shorter book. (This one is also split into not so long chapters though)
