What a cute volume!

I really enjoyed this! I've read some of the author's other works before, and she does a great job with fluffy, almost-but-not-quite BL scenarios. Protagonists with pure hearts, found family relationships, etc, and this is what you get here. Protagonist 光 (ひかり) idolizes street basketball legend 久我嵐 (くが・あらし), and gets his chance to meet his hero after he moves to Tokyo and transfers into a recently all-girls school. 嵐 has been 光's source of guiding light ever since a terrible accident in 光's past, but when the two meet, 嵐 has already sworn off basketball due to a previous injury. 光 won't give up that easily, and vows to draw 嵐 back into the game with what feels like sheer exuberance.

Our two leads are supported by three other boys transferring into the school at the same time, all five of them roommates, each supporting each other in their own way, and while these guys do tend to fall back on cliche roles (the nerd, the playboy, the tsundere), they're all in it together, and are pretty much always in every scene, which I really appreciated. There are sad moments, but just as many uplifting and comedic ones (one good gag that slowly evolves is the height difference between tiny 光 and massive 嵐: the former begins to climb onto the latter's shoulders in background shots, which eventually begins to bleed through into main shot interactions).

Despite this focusing around a love of basketball, you do not need to know anything but the absolute layman basics about the sport; there's a tiny bit of technical explanations/specific shots, but absolutely nothing that would stand in your way of not understanding the story at hand.
