A reaaaaally emotional volume, in sooo many ways. Maybe it's because this wasn't such a battle-oriented volume, but the artwork felt a bit brighter and more open in certain places.
Kagome continues to be incredible - in her emotional resilience, her sympathy & compassion, her resistance to Naraku's attempted possession & 屁理屈, etc. I feel bad for how doubtful/insecure she is of herself. I wish she got a little more time in the modern era... I guess the anime did well in that regard, in general. Anyway, it's really powerful seeing both her and Inuyasha go through some deep challenges, but still stay be each other's side. It's kind of hard to believe this is the end of Kikyou.
There's yet again something larger being set up... though the volume ends with a kind of quirky setting.
