This was fine. It reminded me of a short story you're assigned to read in school or something but it didn't have much of an impact for me. It's for kids so the language is fairly simple with only a few quirks due to being an older work.

This landed at 24 (Nov 2024) but until it has more gradings I wouldn't trust that as I am not the best for grading things below ~28.
Plenty of furigana, not a wide range of vocab, very straight forward story telling. I wasn't sure if this was autobiographical about the author's own childhood or something he made up as a story. It's a cute story, but to be honest the writing didn't do much for me.
