This was the first novel that I read in Japanese back in the early 2010s after watching the television drama. At the time I was about a JLPT N4-N3 level, and I could understand much of it without looking up too many words, but I also had some background knowledge from the drama which helped (even though the stories are different some of the quotes are the same).
It was interesting to read the thoughts of a teenage girl, and accordingly, the sentences and vocabulary weren't too complex.
