This was cute and I enjoyed the scene setting, but it wasn't my favorite of the author's works by any means. A story told from the perspective of a red dragonfly.
You will more than likely need a popup dictionary to read this, but grammar wise it's very smooth. Something unlikely to be in your dictionary but frequently seen in the text is the use of かあいい which so far as I can tell from googling, a slightly childish way of saying かわいい. It doesn't seem to be out of use entirely.
